tfw fall 2011 module 1 final assignment

The Assignment

For this assignment, I would like you to use our readings, your experience with Twitter and Tumblr, and the class’s Web 2.0 research to address the question, What does it mean to be a writer today?

When you come to your conclusion, discuss where you think writing is headed in the future as well as the implications of your findings in terms of your own career path. Why, for example, will understanding what it means to be a writer today be important to you in your chosen field. Avoid tiresome and tautological cliches about having to be able to change with the times and teaching a new kind of student. Also stay away from discussions of learning styles. Really delve into the pragmatic, theoretical, and metaphoric implications of your findings. When discussing certain parts of a Web 2.0 site you may use screen shots to enhance your discussion.

How to Turn in the Assignment

Put the final assignment and the log of your Tumblr posts in the “intro to writing arts” folder that you have synced with Spideroak. Then share with BW your entire “Writing Arts” folder, not just the “intro to writing arts” folder. I need to see how you have structured the portfolio. Be sure to email BW the share link.
