Assignment Overview

This assignment was planned long in advance of Neil Gaiman’s March 7, 2014 visit, but I’ve added an option to make it connected to his visit.

The assignment is pretty straightforward: compose a semiotic and comic analysis of one of these options:

• a Neil Gaiman graphic novel you have yet to read
• one of the graphic memoirs BW will have in class on 2/20 (that you’ll borrow)

You can present the analysis in any mode you want. That is, it can be an essay, it can be a video, it can be a vlog, it can be a collage (as in I Live Here), it can be a comic. You get the picture. Whichever mode you choose, make sure there are images in it.

You create the guidelines for how long you want it to be and when it will be due. Send BW an email if you’re planning on completing it, the mode it will be presented, and when your due date it.

Post the final to the course blog with an introduction.
